Eragon (Ed Speleers) is a poor boy who lives on a farm. One day he finds a beautiful blue stone. The stone is in fact a dragon's egg. The egg hatches, and the dragon Saphira is born. Eragon enters a world of magic and power, and he and Saphira must defend the Empire from an evil King. This film is based on the first volume of the Inheritance Trilogy by Christopher Paolini, who was only 16 years old when he wrote the book.
